Cloud Computing is set to bring dramatic changes to the way we work, learn, heal and communicate globally. The engine of the Cloud resides in Data Centers that is also seen as one of the fastest growing areas for greenhouse gas emissions and energy and water consumption. New innovations models for data centers are being developed in tandem with regulatory review by governments across Europe. The Cloud can also offer business an opportunity to reduce its carbon footprint. Microsoft will share insights of the company’s own data center sustainability strategy and what it has done to reengineering its infrastructure and outline some technologies that companies can take advantage of in the near future. The discussion will also provide the current approach of various EU regulators and provide some insights on what the IT industry can expect.
